An undiscoverd paradise, Fynbos Estate is an hour’s drive from Cape Town, situated in the Paardeberg mountain near Malmesbury. Our beautiful Victorian farmhouse and small cottage are surrounded by lovely garden, 40 hectares of vineyard and 270 hectares of nature reserve.
We offer accommodation for up to 18 people, and for larger numbers, have the use of 4 double rooms on the next door farm within easy walking distance. Our Pavillion, which can take up to 60 people, provides a magical venue for workshops, retreats, weddings and small conferences.
We pride ourselves on our delicious country and gourmet food, but also offer self catered or part-catered options. Guests are welcome to visit our small winery and sample our Dragonridge wines, and during harvest, we have weekend and day winemaking events where you can participate directly in winemaking.
Fynbos Estate is ideal for those wanting peace and tranquility away from the city. Guests can lounge on the verandahs, browse the library, swim in the pool under the mountain, cosy up to a fire in winter and taste wines of the area. For those who like to walk, there are gentle meanders in the vineyards and easy hikes up the mountain. If you are feeling a little lazy, any high clearance vehicle will get you up the mountain where you will be amongst the Fynbos and have spectacular views.
For day excursions away from the farm, Wellington and the Riebeek valley are a half hour away, and Darling, the west coast and the Stellenbosch wine route are but an hour's travelling.distance.
