Taal Monument, situated on Paarl Rock, just West of Paarl town center it stands 57m high. The design of the monument was done by an architect called Jan Van Wyk and the writers C. J. Langenhoven and N. P. van Wyk Louw around 1975. Symbolizing the contributions made by Africa, the Netherlands and Great Britain to the development of the Afrikaans language. |
