Our self catering weekend trip to Oudtshoorn
As a little girl in primary school I visited the Ostrich farm in Oudtshoorn. This was a wonderful experience as we actually got to ride on an ostrich. So when we decided to go away for a self catering weekend I naturally thought of Oudtshoorn, as there is so much to see and do there.
We visited the Cango Caves which were outstanding. I, however, did not finish the full tour as I get very claustophobic quickly. My husband completed it and said it was good fun. We then visited the crocodile farm which was also very interesting. We left the visit to the ostrich farm for last. We took a guided tour which was extremely interesting and yes, I got to ride an ostrich again. After our guided tour we decided to stay and have lunch at the restaurant on the ostrich farm - this was well worth the money.
All in all I would say that our little weekend trip to Oudtshoorn was a complete success. We got to see and experience so many new things that I was bubbling over with things to tell my friends when we got back to Cape Town.
